UFC 6 Southpaw & Orthodox: Knockout Stance Mapping

Set Knockout's Southpaw option correctly, understand lead and rear button swaps and diagnose reversed attacks without changing your combo activator.

Oct 4, 2026-2 min readBy Knockout-About the Knockout script

Knockout's UFC 6 Southpaw option swaps the script's face-button mappings. It does not detect your fighter's stance and does not make your fighter switch stance. Match the menu option to the stance you are already using in the game.

What the setting changes

Use the Southpaw entry in the supplied script's Zen menu. OFF uses the Orthodox mapping. ON swaps the face-button pairs for physical inputs and scripted moves.

Because the setting affects both manual and scripted face-button inputs, test ordinary strikes as well as your preset after changing it. You may be using the correct preset yet appear to use the wrong lead or rear hand when the mapping and in-game stance do not match.

The activator still refers to the supplied activation control for that combo. Turning Southpaw on does not mean you should press a different D-pad direction to start the same sequence.

Match the game and script in order

  1. Select your fighter and establish the stance you intend to test in the game.
  2. Open Knockout's menu using L2/LT + Options/Menu.
  3. Find Southpaw if that option is included in your file.
  4. Use OFF for your Orthodox setup or ON for your Southpaw setup.
  5. Close the menu and save. Test a single lead and rear attack before running a full combo.
  6. Activate one short preset and compare its move order against the preset reference.

If you change your fighter's stance during play, the script does not automatically discover that change. Recheck the mapping when the lead/rear behavior no longer matches your intention.

Preset names do not choose the mapping

Southpaw Power Counter contains Cross, Lead Uppercut and Rear Hook. Southpaw Hook Finisher contains Lead Uppercut, Cross, Lead Uppercut and Rear Hook. The name helps identify the preset; the separate menu option controls the mapping.

Do not infer automatic stance switching from either preset. Similarly, a counter-named preset does not read an opponent's attack. You decide when to activate it and whether the range and opening are suitable.

Diagnose reversed or unexpected strikes

First disable the combo and check ordinary attacks with the same fighter. Then check the in-game control layout and the controller type used for the script. Finally, compare the Southpaw option with the stance on screen. Keep the timing unchanged during these checks.

If Southpaw is missing from the menu, confirm your active script version and check its release instructions. Contact product support if the menu differs from the supplied reference. See the installation guide to check that the intended file is loaded.

FAQ

Does Southpaw ON switch the fighter into southpaw?

No. It changes the script's mappings. Establish the desired stance in the game separately.

Is this the UFC 5 L3 stance toggle?

No. The UFC 6 implementation uses the Southpaw option in the Zen menu. Do not apply UFC 5-specific controls to your UFC 6 file.
